Soul Food for Your Baby offers a variety of opportunities for families to gain confidence in their choice to breastfeed. In addition to breastfeeding topics that concern families, we integrate child development and parent education information into our sessions.

Soul Food for Your Baby’s breastfeeding classes are the starting point for our program. All program participants must enroll in the breastfeeding class before accessing other SFYB services.

The classes infuse music, video, demonstration, games, and role-play to help parents learn about breastfeeding in a fun and interesting way. To help ensure that breastfeeding gets off to a great start, classes are designed for pregnant moms and are held in three sessions for a total of 6 hours. Dads, grandparents and other support persons are strongly encouraged to attend! Breastfeeding moms are always welcome too.

Support Groups
You’re now home after delivering your baby. Need some help with breastfeeding? Our breastfeeding support groups will help you in the early days of breastfeeding and beyond. Support groups meet once a month for 1.5 hours. Each session covers a breastfeeding and/or parenting topic, followed by a discussion period and breastfeeding support from our trained staff.

Come with your questions, your concerns, and your baby. We’ll do our best to meet your needs. Dads, grandmothers, and pregnant moms are strongly encouraged to attend.
